A look at Olajide Ayeni’s Electrocuted architecture photo-documentary series

Electrocuted Architecture is a photo-documentary inspired by Lagos’ urban space and its architecture. To highlight how Lagosians visually interact with the architecture of their city through electricity wires.

In Jide’s words…

“Walking through the city you can hardly appreciate a work of architecture without having electricity wires accentuating or totally obstructing your scene”.

There is also the subtext of social class. More grandiose structures have less electricity wires occupying the viewer’s visual space, compared to the high density areas”
