The female artists association of Nigeria comprises of talented Nigerian female artists with creative skills to bring about positive social change in the society. For over the past 15 years of her existence, the association has to her credits several exhibition that touched social, political and gender based issues in Nigerian society.
The association has been for over a decade, celebrate women and womanhood every 8th of March International Women’s Day by showcasing inspiring and provocative artworks of Nigerian women artists, each telling their unique story
“Coordinator of the zone, Omovo Ayoola Oluwaseun, said the exhibition would show the love and leadership role of women in society, adding, “People always feel serious women are not into art, but we have doctors, lecturers among us. We want people to love, read and value art, so that someday, art can be found in every home.”
The maiden edition of the annual exhibition ‘Art-titute’ started on Friday 18th August to 1st. September 2017 at Yusufu Grillo gallery School of Art and design, Yaba college of technology
