Babawande Thomas is a content creator and a producer and produces various types of content, from music videos to documentaries to corporate campaigns. He is the Creative Director of Urbangidi, an African Content creation and production company. He produced Falz’s “This is Nigeria” video and has also worked with artistes like Burna Boy. Wande grew up as a TV addict and loved telling stories. These interests inspired his decision to share his own stories professionally and eventually become a producer. He has an IT background with degrees from Brunel University and Birmingham City University. This has had an effect on his style as he uses technology in his work for maximum media impact. During his days as a student, he had an idea for a TV show which he developed into his first experience in production. He cites Donald Glover as a key source of inspiration because of his flexibility, good eye for content and ability to achieve excellence through a variety of media expressions. Wande is an avid believer in African self-sufficiency and cultural preservation for Nigeria – in essence, “Africa is who Africa needs”.
