Nigerian born Hollywood director and Sundance film festival winner Chinonye Chukwu has been announced by HBO max as the director of the first two episodes of upcoming drama series .

Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie

Americanah is an adaptation of Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie’s novel of the same title. It tells the love story of two Nigerians who leave each other and the country in search of fulfilling ambitions and their experiences with love, race, politics and fulfillment alike. The 10-episode limited series will star Lupita Nyong’o, Uzo Aduba, and Zackary Momoh while Danai Gurira is the writer and showrunner.
