One of the amazing things about the latest class of musicians in the Nigerian music space is their keen use of creative imagery and its role in conveying the intricacies of the music. To celebrate the one-year anniversary of her debut, Bri’s Lounge, Dami Oniru stars in a music video/short film that effectively meshes three songs, Alive, Higher, and Ready, off the project to form a cohesive message.

Directed by Ademola Falomo, the video takes us through Dami Oniru’s five shades of dealing with grief as tightly underpinned by her looks in each sequence.

The closing sequence shows her fierce, refusing to be taken for a fool. “You don’t want to mess with a girl,” Dami Oniru warns. And she means it, shattering a man’s car to prove her point.
