John Boyega will reprise his role as Finn for the final installment of the Skywalker trilogy.
Disney recently released the trailer for the latest and final film in the Star Wars franchise, The Rise of Skywalker at The D23 Expo.
John Boyega is also reprised for his role as Finn for the film and has previously hinted that this may be his final appearance in the franchise. Speaking with MTV News that he “honestly thinks” he won’t be playing the role again during an interview in April.
Here’s the film’s official description:
The surviving Resistance faces the First Order once more as Rey, Finn and Poe Dameron’s journey continues. With the power and knowledge of generations behind them, the final battle commences.
The Rise of Skywalker is the ninth installment in the series and the last film in the most recent trilogy. While the new trailer reveals a lot of throwback footage, it also includes never seen shots of characters like Finn, Poe, Chewbacca and C-3PO and Rey—who looks like she’s taken a dark turn in this season.
The film will also star Carrie Fisher, Daisy Ridley, Naomi Ackie, Mark Hamill, Oscar Issac and more. Also to be directed by J.J Abrams.
The upcoming installment hits theaters December 20. Check out the trailer for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker below.
