Watch Nigerian-American Filmmaker, Julius Onah’s Pensive Trailer For ‘Luce’

Julius Onah is undoubtedly among the list of up-and-coming creatives to look out for, with amazing features and stories that are absolutely relatable, we can say that the Nigerian-American Filmmaker is a star on the rise.

We can say the same for his highly expected project ‘Luce’ While we have been eagerly waiting for the release of this feature film, He has graced us with the release of the gripping trailer for the drama, and it’s pensive.

Julius Onah - Luce

The film which is scheduled for a late release in August, follows Luce Edgar (Kevin Harrison Jr.), a model student that pleases the parents (Naomi Watts and Tim Roth). Luce was an adopted child from a war-torn African nation. While they love him, they still harbour concerns that he might be haunted by the violent trauma of his past.

When Luce’s teacher, Harriet (Oscar-winning actress, Octavia Spencer) discovers the well-researched paper he wrote about political violence, she begins to investigate, but her discoveries set off a chain of events that will change everyone’s lives forever.

The film debutted at the Sundance Festival 2019, and the trailer shows why it received critical acclaim. Given the current political and racial turmoil in the US, it’s sure to strike a chord with audiences, and as an added bonus, Octavia Spencer shines in the movie.

Luce is scheduled for an August 2nd release, and we cannot wait. Watch the trailer below:
